I Sit Here Thinking
Deep within the trees Surrounded by the leaves, I sit here thinking And the breeze brings me peace. The world insists I move, To return to the city with the stresses manifested, But still I sit here thinking. Thinking of the world, The mother not of greed. Thinking of the tiny little worlds I’ll never get to see. The one within a log Or the one within the sea, Of some I do get glimpses If only for a second. But if I sit for long enough More glimpses come to me. The wildlife accepts me, I am not a threat. The trees grow around me And encourage me to stay. The world continues on, But here I cannot tell. The wind and leaves a barrier So the world to me remains. So still I sit here thinking Of The peace one might discover. Forever I’ll sit thinking, Hidden within the trees.
